One of Madison Auto Care's seven NAPA service centers can help if your car blows its head gasket.
You’re headed to Bluestem Jazz when your car overheats. You pull over to the side of the road and cut off your engine. You assume you have a problem with your radiator or other component of your cooling system. You might be right.
But, you could be wrong. Especially if your car is showing multiple signs that something isn’t right.
What are those signs? Well, among them, according to thedrive.com, are leaking oil or coolant, a misfiring engine, white smoke coming from the exhaust, milky oil, bubbling inside the radiator, and/or wet or fouled spark plugs.
What’s the problem? Well, it’s likely a blown head gasket.
Thedrive.com explains, “The head gasket is a seal that lives between the engine block and cylinder heads. It creates a seal to contain the internal combustion processes taking place and prevents coolant and oil from mixing in the engine.
“When a head gasket starts to go bad, it can cause all sorts of other problems with the engine and exhaust systems. Any number of things can cause the head gasket to fail, from age to an overheated engine, to even a poorly installed gasket itself! No matter the cause, the problem requires immediate attention—attention, this is not a drill.”
Possible causes of a blown head gasket are overheating, poor gasket installation, age, or a warped or cracked block head. No matter the cause, the Madison auto repair technicians at one of Madison Auto Care's seven NAPA service centers can help you with that.
