Be extra vigilant about your car’s welfare in the extreme heat. The auto care experts at any of Madison Auto Care's seven NAPA service centers can help you with that.
As the summer wears on, so does the scorching hot weather, producing what’s been called a “dangerous heat wave” that threatens your well being. But, as AAA reminds, it’s not just your well being that’s at risk. It’s also the well being of your car or truck.
“Heat interferes with your vehicle’s ability to operate, making pretty much every part of your car work harder,” according to AAA. “One of the big problems? Your battery. Extreme heat affects the chemical process inside the battery, making it harder for it to hold a charge and produce power.
“Other problem areas include your tires. … high temperatures can affect tire pressure, causing uneven wear on your tires. That increases the likelihood of a blowout, especially when pavement temperatures are high.
“The hot weather can also affect your car starting when an engine is too hot, fuel does not circulate as well. That can mean your car struggles to start.”
Your solution? Park in the shade, if possible, and keep up with auto care, including your car’s cooling system. If you don’t have a reliable Madison auto care pro you can trust, then it’s time to meet the guys at one of Madison Auto Care's conveniently located NAPA service centers: Clausen Auto, Handel Auto, Genin’s Auto, Capitol Tire, Odana Tire, Hansen’s Auto, or Aeschbach Auto.
